Eyelash Extension Aftercare

Eyelash extensions aftercare is actually pretty simple.  It is easy to care for and to maintain. The better care you take - the longer they will last!

Before the lash appointment, it is a good idea to clean your eye area of any makeup, oil, and residue.  Cleaning the lash area will ensure that the glue will adhere correctly. BL Lash foam is a great cleanser to wash off any makeup and oil on the eyes. The BL Lash Primer helps you to remove oil and dust from the eyelids. It also sterilizes the eyelashes before eyelash extension.

After the application, it is highly recommended to keep the lash area dry for up to 24 hours.  The bonding of the glue can take up to 24 hours to cure, so be very careful with them.  Avoid direct water contact on the lashes and avoid touching or pulling on the lashes.  It may get some getting use to when it comes to not touching or rubbing your eye area.

One of the most important aftercare tip is not using oil-based products on your face.  Oil-based products (cleansers, makeup, etc) can break down the adhesive bond on your lash extensions.  It is highly recommended to use the specially designed mascaras for eyelash extensions.  We carry the Max2 Special Lash Mascara and the BL Noir Mascara.  These mascaras can be used to emphasize your lash extensions if you feel you need it. However, avoid applying the mascara from the roots where it can snag.

We also offer sealants that can help maintain and lengthen the life of your lash extension. The black diamond and crystal drop sealants will help protect your eyelashes from external residues such as makeup, dust, etc.  It is important to apply from the mid-lash to tip to avoid snagging.

If you plan to keep your lash extensions, it is important to take good care of them and make regular appointments to fill in the gaps. Taking good care will also protect your natural lashes.
